The rules are different for deleting goals: if goals are in part of the Performance Document or only located in the Goal Plan. And depend on the roles of the users, if it's for an Employee, Manager or a Talent Management (TM) Specialist.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

  1. If Goals are already included in a Performance Document

  2. If Goals are not located in a Performance Document

  3. Summary Table

1. If Goals already included in a Performance Document:

  • As an Employee:

    • Employee is not able to delete goals already included in a Performance Document.

    • He/She needs to ask to his manager to delete Goals if those are set before that the Manager has submitted his/her evaluation to the Employee.

  • As a Manager:

    • A Manager is able to delete goals from « Manager Activation » , « Employee Self-Evaluation » & « Manager Self-Evaluation » tasks in the Performance Document as long as the manager's evaluation has not been sent to the Employee.

    • Step By Step to delete the goals by Manager while goals are already included in a Performance Document:

      • The Manager navigates to his Employee's profile, clicks on "Performance" tab:

      • The initiated task is in “Manager Activation” for instance, the manager will be able to remove a Goal.

      • If you click on one of the goals, you can remove or delete it.

        • "Remove From Document" action: The Manager and the Employee can retrieve the Goal in the Goal Plan.

        • "Delete Goal" action: The Goal will be deleted from both Performance Document & Goal Plan. And can not retrieve the Goal in the Goal Plan.

      • Please be aware that once the Performance has been submitted by the Manager to his Employee, it will not be possible to remove the Goal (at "Provide Final Feedback" task).

      • Not possible to delete the Goal by the Manager in this case:

  • As a TM Specialist:

    • A TM Specialist is not able to delete goals already included to a Performance Document.

      • Two workarounds:

        1. A TM Specialist needs to Cancel and Delete Performance Documents in which those Goals were added, then able to Cancel and Delete those Goals from "Performance Goal" section. (Related FAQ topic) If the document is only canceled, it would not be possible to delete the goals, it needs to be deleted.

        2. A TM Specialist asks the manager to delete the Goals. If the evaluation has been already performed from Employee & Manager, TM Specialist can choose "Move Task Back" action and select "Manager Activation" task. (Related FAQ topic)
